Wayne Leffler - born into a family with music running through their veins, starting with the first Leffler to immigrate to Australia in the mid 1850’s (Edmund Ironsides Leffler – Professor of Music, who himself, came from a long line of musicians in the UK).

From the southern suburbs of Sydney, his musical influences are wide and varied which is reflected in his vast repertoire - from old classics to modern groove based tunes.

Starting in school bands at age 14 then moving to busking in Sydney's Botanical Gardens as a 16 year old with initial major influences from Bob Dylan, Woody & Arlo Guthrie, Donovan, Don McLean and Harry Nilsson, later moving into blues bands with the initial influence of the British blues invasion of the 60's including the Stones, the Yardbirds, Jeff Beck, John Mayall, the Animals, etc.

In the late 70’s, he could regularly be seen ‘boogieing’ and ‘New Waving’ with his band, the 'Harbour Ratz' in and around inner Sydney and the Northern Beaches.

After a number of years in a ‘musical hiatus’, he re-emerged in the late 90’s with Sydney band, ‘Hellhound Blues’ which later morphed into ‘Cold Comfort’.

In 2009, he joined popular pub and festival band, Mississippi Shakedown, and featured heavily on their 2012 CD, ‘5th’, playing harp, mandolin, guitar and sharing vocal duties with ‘Mississippi’ Jeff Cripps.

Around this same time, as a side project, he joined forces with his long-standing musical partner, John Gahagan (Cold Comfort’s guitarist) and Derek Smith (Mississippi Shakedown’s drummer) to form ‘RUN the RED’ handling the roles of lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist (playing Hammond organ, piano, guitar, mandolin and blues harp). Acoustic offshoots of ‘RUN the RED’ were the RedRunners Duo and Trio and Run the Red Duo.

The latest phase of his musical journey is a return to performing as a solo artist utilising his versatility with acoustic and electric guitars, harmonica, looper pedal and various other effects and harmonising pedals.
